about
"It was an honor to write this song about Raquel. As a parent, the thought of losing a child is so overwhelming. I didn't know Raquel personally but it was amazing to learn about her through the lens of such a loving mother. It is inspiring to see the sweet, positive power that Jenni has summoned as she honors Raquel by serving others. I'm grateful for this song to be a part of that." --Cherie Call
This song was written and performed by Cherie Call and dedicated to Raquel Wilson, who passed away June 2015 from Glioblastoma. The proceeds from the sale of this song will go to the Cedar City Chapter of Days for Girls International, which provide hygiene kits to girls around the world so they can stay in school and not be exploited.
Verse 1
Time stands still when you hold a newborn baby
And if you see a dreamy smile upon her tiny face
All the weary troubles of this worn out world
Seem to disappear without a trace
And just a moment later, you turn around and she’s a lady
Dressed up in an evening gown of blue
I’ve learned all these things to be true, just from loving you
Verse 2
The world could crumble down and you’d never be the wiser
When you’re wrapped up with a blanket and a book
And when you spend an afternoon laughing with your loved ones
You’ll never have regrets for all the time it took
And sometimes angels sing while they’re playing their guitars
And all the age old songs become brand new
I’ve learned all these things to be true, just from loving you
Bridge
Now I walk this road without you, but you’re with me everywhere I go
And I will hold you again on a light filled day that only Heaven knows
Verse 3
Until then I’m here, and I know you’re there
Full of all the love you ever meant to give
I will hold it close and I’ll give it all away
Every moment that I wish you could’ve lived
And all the broken pieces of my heart have made it deeper
To carry all the grace that sees us through
I’ve learned all these things to be true, just from loving you
I’ve learned all these things to be true, just from loving you
